This baluster shaped piece has a pronounced pedestal foot and lattice engraved top, with an acorn finial.
Hester Bateman first registered her sponsor's mark in London in 1761. She successfully ran her family business for thirty years. Her children continued her efforts and the business lasted up until the mid 19th century. She is considered by some to be one of the finest English silversmiths.
