A very simple design with a ribbed edge and a blue glass liner; a thumb-sized hook sits at the top of the handle fixed to the lid for ease of opening. A very useful condiment that could house honey, marmalade or jam. Henry Chawner was first registered as a silversmith in 1786, known for making cruet sets, flatware, tea sets and inkwells.
