2016 heralded the introduction of the replacement for one of the most famous models in Patek's history, the World Time. In various different guises the model has been available for around 80 years, the 5230R-012 has been updated in a number of key areas. The case shape has been slightly changed compared to that of its predecessors, the hands too have changed - the hour hand now has the appearance of the 'Southern Cross' constellation. Another obvious update is the time zones themselves, as from 27th March 2016 Russia 'moved' from GMT+4 to GMT+3. Changes for the sake of accuracy had to be made. The watch makes use of the 240 HU self-winding movement with micro rotor. The 5230R-012 in rose gold comes with a hand-guillochéd, charcoal grey lacquered dial.
