The now iconic Aquanaut family began in 1997 with the 5060A, which was soon regarded as the younger sibling of the then twenty-one year old Nautilus. The young and modern distinctive dimensions of the Aquanaut perfectly encapsulated the mood at the end of the 1990s with the statement grenade-patterned dial and "tropical" rubber strap attracting attention. 2004 saw a distinctly feminine version of the Aquanaut appear with the Luce (Italian for "light") sparkling with colourless brilliants set into the bezel. 2010 saw the warm rose gold 5068 with a 35.6mm case size that became hugely popular. Fast forward to 2021 and Patek Philippe have revisited this feminine offering with the 5268/200R-001, which commands attention with a statement 38.8mm warm rose gold case that has been expertly polished and satin finished. This larger case size features 1.11ct of sparkling colourless brilliant cut diamonds that have been expertly hand set into the bezel. A matte white embossed grenade patterned dial exudes fresh modernity, and is perfectly complemented by a matte white composite strap and patented fold over clasp. Housing the well-known self-winding mechanical calibre 26-330 S C the 5268/200R-001 has a useful maximum 45-hour power reserve.
