4.21CT in Platinum
Square Cut, Rubover Set
Description
A remarkable sapphire ring from the Art Deco period. An exceptionally rare square cut Kashmir sapphire with a deep velvety blue hue, set in a rub over setting within a frame of brilliant cut diamonds crafted in platinum.
The Kashmir mine in Northern India that produced these famous sapphires has been depleted since 1887. They are known for their distinctive hue which is often described as 'hazy'. This sapphire is certified unheated.
Art Deco is known for its clean lines and simple shapes, which were juxtaposed to create beautiful compositions.
