César de Tray was a buisiness man and watch dealer in India. In 1930 he was approached by a polo player who desired a watch that could stand up to the relentless impacts of the sport. In turn this request was sent to Jacques-David LeCoultre who, with his engineers, devised an intelligent reversible case to protect the dial.
This pre-owned Jager-LeCoultre Reverso Duetto 23mm Ladies Watch is presented on a lustrous silver dial printed with distinct black Arabic numerals and black hands. An internal minute track lines a rectangular centre of the dial, from which radiates a guilloche pattern. Inside lays a traditional hand wound movement. Housed within the stainless steel case, with reversible functionality, which presents a secondary hidden black dial with Arabic six and twelve numerals. The case edges on the reverse dial are lined with horizontally set diamonds. Presented on a black alligator strap.
A timepiece designed with two identities: a modern clear dial for daily wear; and a magnificent diamond set case, with silken black dial, for evening wear.
