Art Deco Diamond and Jadeite Bar Brooch in Platinum and White Gold

A diamond and jadeite bar brooch from the Art Deco period. A row of alluring old cut diamonds (3.22cts) have been expertly millegrain set and form the centrepiece of four distinct square sections. Each has been accentuated by smaller grain set old cut stones that have been set at the four main compass points surrounding each stone. Four carved leaf form jadeite panels further define each square section, which have been separated by millegrain edged old cut diamond set bar sections. Expert Craftsmanship can be seen in the superb quality of this brooch with engraved scroll work patterns appearing on the main outside edges. Jadeite (jade) is a gemstone that has been revered and adored by Chinese culture for thousands of years and is known to attract good luck and friendship. Used extensively in the Art Deco period, the enlivening green tones of jade come alive when showcased in the geometric creations of the period (1911-1940). Strong lines and geometric forms dominate in this collectible and wearable brooch, which can be pinned to the shoulder of a favourite coat, or at the collar of a blouse.
