Cartier Cocktail Watch
Circa 1950s
Ivory Dial, Golden Dot Numerals
Description
An antique c.1950s Cartier cocktail watch designed in a mind-set of wanting 'anything but round'. While competitors produced similar looking round-cased timepieces, Cartier's designers took to the archives to bring inspiration from the 1904 Santos to the Tank Louis of 1922. Creating a release of retro cocktail watches that included the soon to be famous Panthère. Since it was founded in Paris in 1847, the House has gone from strength to strength, being famously credited as “the jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers” by King Edward the VII. The house was as its peak when it was owned and run by the founding family, from 1847 to 1964.
This pre-owned Antique Cartier Cocktail Ladies bracelet Watch subtly displays the time on a crisp ivory white dial with gold dot indices, with endearing plume hands. Powered by a crown operated hand wound mechanical movement. The case's design primarily functions as a single link in a magnificently created gold bracelet. Featuring a double hinged safely clasp for security. All manufactured in 14ct Yellow Gold. Adorned first and foremost as a luxurious designer Cartier bracelet, but with the added feature of a subtle watch dial for reading the time.
