Antique Art Deco Diamond Ear Studs 4.56ct in Platinum
Brilliant Cut Diamond Leaf Motif Earrings
Description
A pair of striking platinum 4.56ct diamond ear studs from the Art Deco period. Showcasing two breathtaking 2.38 and 2.18ct brilliant cut diamonds that have been securely claw set. Each of these impressive diamonds has been accented by a pair of leaf forms that have been set with small brilliants. Naturalistic flora and fauna forms are commonly seen in jewellery from the Art Deco period. Here, the combination of identical larger and smaller motifs draws the eye and highlights the symmetry that was so favoured during the era. The sharply tapered endpoints of each of these leaves are particularly graceful and relate to forms seen in Indian inspired examples.
Practical and wearable today, these elegant earrings can be worn in two ways - with the leaves pointing upwards or downwards.
The Art Deco movement has truly stood the test of time, making the striking silhouette of this piece as contemporary today as when it was first made.
