Antique Art Deco Ruby Cluster Ring 1.20ct in 18ct Rose Gold

An unusual and bold ruby ring from the Art Deco Period that resembles the shape of an eye. Art Deco jewellery took inspiration from ancient Egypt, India and Persia, where the eye symbol is revered. In 1922, the archaeologist, Howard Carter, discovered the tomb of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun, and the “wonderful things” it contained fuelled the global craze for all things ancient Egyptian. Particularly reminiscent of this style, the shape of the eye has been clearly defined in a rich rose gold surround, with the pointed corners clearly delineated. At its centre we see an attractive oval ruby that has been surrounded by a halo of old cut diamonds. More graduated oval cut rubies follow in an oval ellipse shaped border.
