Description
A charming diamond swan brooch from the Victorian period. A stylised swan, crafted in silver and yellow gold, is adorned with old cut diamonds in grain settings, with millegrain details to the wings and tail. The body of the swan is depicted with a sensational oval shaped, natural white pearl. With enamel details to the head.
The purity and lustre of the natural pearl wonderfully encapsulates the snow-white colour of the swan and the elegance and grace of these regal birds.
The Victorian era marked a time dedicated to religion and love. Common motifs in the jewellery of the time were birds, flowers, trees: symbolisms drawn from Nature.
